At times we assume that the sins will impact only our hereafter. The punishment of sins will only be faced in the hereafter. Well that may not be it. Sins have a multidimensional impact on our lives in both the worlds.

Ayatollah Sayyid Ali Khamenei provides us with a short interpretation of the following verse of the Holy Quran.

Chapter 3 (Ale Imran), Verse 155:
“Indeed, those from among you who fled on the day when the two armies came together [in Uhud] were made to slip by Satan due to some of their lapses (sins). But Allah has pardoned them. Surely, Allah is all-Forgiving and all-Forbearing.”
